You Weren’t Meant to Do This Alone
Bringing a baby into the world changes everything—your body, your emotions, your relationships, and your sense of self. You’ve prepared for birth, but what about the days and weeks after? Who’s taking care of you?
At After Birth, we believe postpartum care is just as important as pregnancy and birth. We’re here to make sure you feel supported, heard, and confident as you step into this new chapter.
After Birth was born from personal pain, and turned into a collective that has now served hundreds of families across Texas and beyond. We are Medicaid-enrolled in multiple states, contracted with Health Care Systems, and proud to be community-rooted care that doesn't ask you to choose between quality and access.
Meet the Heart Behind After Birth
Hi, I'm Luce Hicks — founder of After Birth, birth and postpartum doula, childbirth educator, public speaker, Maternal Health Advocate, and mama who has been exactly where you are.
With over 16 years of experience supporting families through pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and loss, I built After Birth because I needed it and couldn't find it. What started as one doula's mission has grown into a collective of 22+ trained professionals serving families across Dallas-Fort Worth and beyond — with Medicaid provider status in multiple states and contracts with health care systems and MCOs.
I built this so no parent ever has to search as hard as I did.
